My eFrame project.
Transforming a laptop into a digital picture frame.
Specs: P3 500Mhz, 256MB RAM, 6GB HD (from eBay; in good working condition; LCD is perfect!). Resolution is 1024x768 with 32-bits colors.
I'm using a 802.11g PCMCIA card to send new pictures to the frame.
I'm simply using the Windows My Pictures screensaver with a 30 secs interval for
each photo and a 1 min delay before the screensaver kicks in.
We keep the frame on Stand-By, and hit the power button behind the frame, just above the power cord, when we people come over to wake it up. Another push of the power button when they leave will put the frame back into Stand-By mode.
All in all, this was pretty easy...
The hardest part was to fix the little deffects at the edges of the screen once all was glued together! I should have been more careful and made the matte hole safely smaller, even if I lost a little screen...
